Description

Red cabbage "Topas" (Brassica oleracea var. capitata) can be stored, as it belongs to late varieties. It develops firm, compact, round, medium large heads of beautiful, intensely red leaves that are rich in beta-carotene, vitamin C and anti-cancer anthocyanins. Resistance to breaking is another advantage of this proposed variety. "Topas" red cabbage heads can be successfully stored for a long time – they will survive the whole winter in great condition in a cold cellar. Crispy, juicy leaves taste great cooked, steamed or fried.

Seeds of the variety offered here are sown in spring onto a seed bed. Young plants need pricking and are then transplanted to the borders in May and June. Just like other head cabbage varieties, "Topas" requires fertile, moist soil that is rich in organic matter. It can be harvested in early autumn, in September and October, and even in November when sown later.

Each package contains 2 g of "Topas" red cabbage seeds. Package information contains a growing guide and the sow-by date.
