Plant Description

Caring for Air Plant

  • Spray water once a week and keep away from direct sunlight.
  • Place your air plants near a window.
  • Air plants prefer warm temperatures around 15 to 30 degree Celsius.
  • Provide Ample Air Circulation.
  • Providing artificial lighting is helpful if your plants lack a bright corner, in the house.

Habitat

Tillandsia Bulbosa prefers coastal areas, strands and hammocks. It thrives in hot and humid environments, like cypress swamps. It is considered a herbaceous plant, vascular without woody structure below or above the ground. It is widespread across Central America, the West Indies, southern Mexico (Chiapas, Tabasco, Veracruz, Yucatán Peninsula), and northern and eastern South America (Venezuela, Colombia, the Guianas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Alagoas, Amapá, Pernambuco)

Care

Tillandsia Bulbosa are easily cared for in just about any environment. These plants prefer warm to hot temperatures, humidity, and air circulation. In zones 9 – 10, these plants can survive outdoors, as long as they are protected from frost. In other zones, they may be grown in artificial environments, provided they are misted regularly, provided 12 hours of filtered or artificial sunlight, and moving air. They do not require soil and only require occasional fertilization.
