Plant these captivating evergreen plants and make your garden space quintessential. Kidelia Africana, also known as sausage tree, is a highly variable monospecific genus of the Bignoniaceae family. The plants have a smooth, gray-brown stout bark trunk, rounded to the spreading crown. Sausage Tree blooms blood-red flowers on long, thread stalks that hang from the limbs of the tree.

The fruit looks like large sausages dangling from the tree and droops down from the long stalks. 

This plant is native to riverbanks, floodplains, open woodlands, and savannas throughout African and has a variety of medicinal uses. Sausage Tree typically grows to 50 to 60 cm tall and blooms dark red flowers. It doesn’t require much maintenance and care to thrive.
